Philodendron Florida Ghost – Grower’s Choice Starter Plant
Philodendron Florida Ghost is a highly collectible hybrid known for its dramatic leaf shape and striking color shifts as new growth emerges. Fresh leaves unfurl in pale shades of cream, mint, or ghostly white before gradually hardening off to light green and eventually deeper green. This color progression is a defining trait of Florida Ghost and is influenced by light, maturity, and overall plant health.
Leaves are elongated with deeply lobed edges, giving the plant a bold, almost sculptural silhouette. Unlike more compact philodendrons, Florida Ghost grows with an upward, climbing tendency over time, developing longer petioles and increasingly complex leaf shapes as it matures. The contrast between fresh pale growth and older green leaves creates constant visual interest.
This listing is for a Grower’s Choice Philodendron Florida Ghost starter plant, not a cutting. Plants are selected by me at the time of fulfillment based on overall health, root development, and growth stage. Starter plants are rooted, actively growing, and grown from my personal collection.
Starter plants are juvenile, established plants with approximately 1–3 leaves at the time of shipment. These plants are rooted and actively growing but still early in development. Leaf shape, size, and coloration will continue to change as the plant matures.
Photos are representative only. You will not receive the exact plant shown. Images represent typical size, growth stage, and range of coloration during different phases of growth.
What to Expect
This listing is for an established starter plant, not a cutting
Starter plants typically have 1–3 leaves at the time of shipment
Plants are rooted and actively growing
New leaves may emerge very light and darken over time
Leaf shape will become more defined as the plant matures
Minor cosmetic imperfections are normal with living plants
Temporary stress from shipping or environmental changes is possible
I do not ship unhealthy or compromised plants. Each plant is inspected prior to shipping to ensure strong roots and overall health.
Care Responsibility
Once the plant leaves my care, ongoing care becomes the responsibility of the buyer. This includes providing appropriate light, warmth, humidity, moisture management, and allowing time for acclimation after shipping.
I am not responsible for color changes during leaf hardening, damage caused by improper care, environmental conditions, shipping delays, or temperature exposure after shipment.
I strongly recommend purchasing a heat pack and upgrading shipping when temperatures are cooler, as starter plants are sensitive to cold and temperature fluctuations.
A Note on Growing
Philodendron Florida Ghost rewards patience and stable conditions. The pale coloration of new growth is temporary and part of the plant’s natural cycle. With consistent care and adequate light, the plant will continue producing dramatic new leaves and increasingly complex foliage as it climbs and matures.
