FAQ's
This page covers common questions about plant arrival, care, shipping, and what to expect when purchasing live plants from The Wanderleaf Co. If you’re unsure about something, you’ll likely find your answer here.
What should I do when my plant arrives?
Unbox your plant as soon as possible after delivery. Carefully remove all packing materials, check the soil moisture, and place the plant in a stable environment with appropriate light. Avoid repotting or making major changes right away. Most plants need time to rest and acclimate after shipping.
Is it normal for my plant to look stressed after shipping?
Yes. Shipping is stressful for plants, even when they’re packed carefully. Drooping, yellowing leaves, minor leaf damage, or leaf loss can happen as your plant adjusts to a new environment. This does not mean the plant is unhealthy or dying.
My plant dropped leaves or has yellow leaves. Did I do something wrong?
Not necessarily. Leaf drop and yellowing are common responses to stress or environmental changes. Give your plant time, consistent care, and stable conditions before assuming there is a problem.
Should I repot my plant right away?
In most cases, no. Repotting immediately after shipping can add additional stress. It’s best to allow your plant time to acclimate before making changes. Once your plant has settled in, you can decide if repotting is needed.
How long does it take for a plant to adjust?
Every plant is different, but adjustment can take several weeks. New growth is usually the best sign that your plant has settled in. Patience is key during this time.
My plant doesn’t look exactly like the photos. Is that normal?
Yes. Plants are living things, and no two are exactly alike. Variations in leaf shape, size, color, and pattern are normal. Photos are representative, but each plant is unique.
What kind of care do your plants need?
Care needs vary depending on the plant, environment, and light conditions. Basic care guidance is provided where possible, and additional care information is shared through the website and blog. Observing your plant and adjusting as needed is part of the growing process.
Are your plants pet safe?
Some plants sold through The Wanderleaf Co. may be toxic to pets if ingested. It is the buyer’s responsibility to research plant safety and determine whether a plant is appropriate for their home.
I strongly recommend keeping plants out of reach of pets and children and consulting a veterinarian or trusted plant safety resource if you have concerns. I’m always happy to help identify plants or answer questions before purchase.
Do you offer heat packs or weather protection?
Depending on current or forecasted temperatures, heat packs or cooling measures may be required to ship safely. If weather protection is recommended and declined at checkout, I’m not responsible for damage caused by temperature exposure during transit.
What happens if my plant arrives damaged?
Due to the nature of live plants, all sales are final.
If a plant arrives damaged, documentation is required within the specified delivery window, including a continuous unboxing video and clear photos. Please review the Shipping and Returns page for full details and requirements.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
No. Live plants are not eligible for returns or exchanges. This policy helps protect plant health and ensure fairness for both buyer and seller.
Do you ship internationally?
No. At this time, The Wanderleaf Co. ships within the United States only.
I am not licensed to ship live plants internationally, and international orders are not accepted.
Do you offer wholesale?
At this time, I’m focused on growing and expanding inventory and am not offering wholesale. Wholesale opportunities may be considered in the future.
How can I contact you if I have questions?
You’re welcome to reach out through the Contact page or via email at thewanderleafco@gmail.com. Please allow reasonable response time, especially during busy shipping periods.
A note on growing
Growing plants takes patience. Leaves yellow. Plants rest. Mistakes happen. This is all part of the process. Give your plant time, observe carefully, and trust that growth often happens quietly.
