Plant Arrival & Care Guide

Woman Watering Plants

When Your Plant Arrives

Shipping can be stressful for live plants, even when they’re packed with care. This guide walks you through what to do when your plant arrives, what’s normal during adjustment, and how to give your plant the best start as it settles into its new environment.

Unbox Promptly

Please unbox your plant as soon as possible after delivery. Gently remove all packing materials and take a moment to look the plant over. Shipping can cause temporary stress, and it’s normal for plants to look a little tired right out of the box.

What’s Normal After Shipping

It’s common for plants to show signs of stress after transit. This may include drooping, yellowing leaves, minor cosmetic damage, or leaf drop. These changes are often part of the adjustment process and do not mean your plant is unhealthy or dying.

What to Do First

Place your plant in a stable environment with appropriate light and temperature. Check the soil moisture and water only if needed. Avoid moving the plant around too much during the first few days. Consistency helps plants recover.

What Not to Do Right Away

Resist the urge to repot, fertilize, or make major changes immediately after arrival. These actions can add unnecessary stress. Give your plant time to rest and acclimate before making adjustments.

The Adjustment Period

Every plant adjusts at its own pace. Some settle in quickly, while others may take several weeks. New growth is often the best sign that your plant has acclimated successfully. Patience is an important part of the growing process.

Pets and Safety

Some plants may be toxic to pets if ingested. It’s the buyer’s responsibility to research plant safety and ensure plants are placed out of reach of pets and children. If you have concerns, consult a veterinarian or trusted plant safety resource.

When to Reach Out

If your plant arrives with significant damage, please refer to the Shipping and Returns page for documentation requirements and timeframes. If you have questions or concerns that aren’t covered here, you’re welcome to reach out through the Contact page.

A Final Note

Growing plants isn’t about perfection. Leaves yellow. Plants rest. Mistakes happen. With time, observation, and consistent care, most plants recover and continue growing. Slow down, give your plant space to adjust, and trust the process.

Happy growing. 🌱
