Alocasia Variegated Frydek – Grower’s Choice Starter Plant
Alocasia Variegated Frydek is a highly coveted form of the classic Frydek, combining deep, velvety green foliage with unpredictable variegation in shades of cream, mint, and pale yellow. Each leaf is unique, with variegation patterns ranging from subtle marbling to bold sectoral splashes. The soft, matte texture of the leaves enhances the contrast, giving this plant a dramatic yet refined presence.
Growth tends to be upright and elegant, with elongated arrow-shaped leaves that emerge tall before gently arching. Variegation can change from leaf to leaf, and early growth may show uneven distribution as the plant establishes. This variability is part of the appeal — no two Variegated Frydeks develop the same way.
This listing is for a Grower’s Choice Alocasia Variegated Frydek starter plant, not a corm. Plants are selected by me at the time of fulfillment based on overall health, root development, and growth stage. Starter plants are rooted, actively growing, and grown from my personal collection.
Starter plants are juvenile, established plants with approximately 1–3 leaves at the time of shipment. These plants are rooted and actively growing but still early in development. Variegation pattern, intensity, and placement will vary.
Photos are representative only. You will not receive the exact plant shown. Images represent typical size, growth stage, and range of variegation.

Plants are rooted and actively growing
Variegation may change, shift, or stabilize over time
Some leaves may show more green or more variegation than others

Temporary stress from shipping or environmental changes is possible
I do not ship unhealthy or compromised plants. Each plant is inspected prior to shipping to ensure strong roots and overall health.
Care Responsibility
Once the plant leaves my care, ongoing care becomes the responsibility of the buyer. This includes providing appropriate light, warmth, humidity, moisture management, and allowing time for acclimation after shipping.
I am not responsible for changes in variegation, damage caused by improper care, environmental conditions, shipping delays, or temperature exposure after shipment.
I strongly recommend purchasing a heat pack and upgrading shipping when temperatures are cooler, as Alocasia starter plants are sensitive to cold and temperature fluctuations.
A Note on Growing
Alocasia Variegated Frydek requires patience and consistency, especially during early growth. Variegation can fluctuate as the plant matures, and stable conditions are key to encouraging balanced development. My goal is to send you a healthy, well-rooted starter plant with strong growth potential so it can continue evolving beautifully in your care.
