Alocasia Rumpelstiltskin – Grower’s Choice Corm
Alocasia Rumpelstiltskin is a distinctive, highly textured variety known for its thick, puckered foliage and dramatic surface detail. Leaves are deep green with pronounced, raised veining and a heavily quilted appearance, giving the plant a rugged, almost sculptural look. The texture is firm and bullate rather than smooth, making this variety stand out for its tactile interest as much as its form.
Growth is upright and compact, with leaves emerging on sturdy petioles and holding their structure well as the plant matures. Rumpelstiltskin is appreciated for its bold texture and strong presence rather than size or color contrast, making it a favorite among collectors who enjoy unusual foliage.
This listing is for a Grower’s Choice Alocasia Rumpelstiltskin corm, not an established plant. Corms are selected by me at the time of fulfillment based on firmness, health, and readiness. Corms may be dormant, beginning to sprout, or actively rooting depending on where they are in the growth cycle. All corms are viable and grown from my personal collection.
Photo is representative only. You will not receive the exact corm shown. Images represent typical size and growth stage only.
What to Expect
This listing is for a corm, not an established plant
Corms may arrive dormant or with early signs of growth
Sprouting timelines vary and can take several weeks
Early leaves may be smaller, lighter, or slightly misshapen as the plant establishes
Growth focuses on root development first before consistent leaf production
I do not ship unhealthy or compromised corms. Each corm is inspected prior to shipping to ensure firmness and viability.
Care Responsibility
Once the corm leaves my care, ongoing care becomes the responsibility of the buyer. This includes providing appropriate warmth, humidity, moisture management, and patience during the sprouting phase. I am not responsible for delays in growth, damage caused by improper care, shipping delays, or temperature exposure after shipment.
I strongly recommend purchasing a heat pack and upgrading shipping, especially during cooler months, as Alocasia corms are sensitive to cold and temperature fluctuations.
A Note on Growing
Alocasia Rumpelstiltskin benefits from consistency and patience. Some corms may sprout quickly, while others take time to activate. My goal is to send you a healthy, viable corm with strong growth potential so you can grow this plant out successfully from the very beginning.
