Alocasia Polly is one of the most recognizable jewel Alocasias, known for its dramatic contrast and bold, graphic foliage. Leaves are deep green with sharply defined, almost electric-looking veins and slightly rippled edges. The shape is arrow-like and angular, giving the plant a striking, sculptural appearance even at a young stage.
Polly tends to grow with a strong central form, producing leaves that emerge upright before gently arching outward. Compared to heavily textured varieties, Polly’s appeal is in its clean lines and high contrast rather than surface texture. As the plant matures, leaves become larger and more defined, with vein contrast intensifying under good light.
This listing is for a Grower’s Choice Alocasia Polly starter plant, not a corm. Plants are selected by me at the time of fulfillment based on overall health, root development, and growth stage. Starter plants are rooted, actively growing, and grown from my personal collection.
Starter plants are juvenile, established plants with approximately 1–3 leaves at the time of shipment. These plants are rooted and actively growing but still early in development. Leaf size, shape, and coloration will continue to change as the plant matures.
Photos are representative only. You will not receive the exact plant shown. Images represent typical size, shape, and growth stage.
What to Expect
This listing is for an established starter plant, not a corm
Starter plants typically have 1–3 leaves at the time of shipment
Plants are rooted and actively growing
Leaf shape and contrast may continue to develop with maturity
Minor cosmetic imperfections are normal with living plants
Temporary stress from shipping or environmental changes is possible
I do not ship unhealthy or compromised plants. Each plant is inspected prior to shipping to ensure strong roots and overall health.
Care Responsibility
Once the plant leaves my care, ongoing care becomes the responsibility of the buyer. This includes providing appropriate light, warmth, humidity, moisture management, and allowing time for acclimation after shipping.
I am not responsible for damage caused by improper care, environmental conditions, shipping delays, or temperature exposure after shipment.
I strongly recommend purchasing a heat pack and upgrading shipping when temperatures are cooler, as Alocasia starter plants are sensitive to cold and temperature fluctuations.
A Note on Growing
Alocasia Polly adapts well when given consistency and patience. Some leaf repositioning or cosmetic changes may occur as the plant adjusts, but stable conditions will encourage stronger, more defined growth over time.
