Alocasia ‘Melo Aurea’
Alocasia ‘Melo Aurea’ combines the rugged, almost rock-like foliage of Melo with warm golden-yellow, lime, and chartreuse variegation. Its exceptionally thick leaves have deep ridges and a matte, sculpted surface, giving the brighter aurea coloring an unusual backdrop you simply don’t see on smoother-leaved Alocasias.
Aurea variegation has plenty of personality. One leaf may be heavily marbled while the next develops splashes, sectors, or softer gradients of yellow and green. Color can also continue developing as freshly unfurled foliage hardens.
