Welcome to Your Plant’s Next Chapter
At The Wanderleaf Co., we do not just sell plants.
We grow them with intention and send them out strong.
Every plant leaves us healthy, established, and ready to continue growing.
What happens next depends on the environment it enters.
Our goal is simple.
We want to help you understand your plant so it does not just survive. It thrives.
Plant care is not about perfection. It is about learning how your specific plant responds in your space.

Start Here First
When your plant arrives home:
• Remove all packaging and cotton immediately
• Check moisture before watering
• If dry, water lightly
• Place in bright, indirect light
• Allow time to acclimate before repotting
Do not rush to “fix” anything.
Your plant just experienced a full environment change.
Understanding Your Setup
Not all plants are grown the same way.
Your plant may arrive in one of the following setups:
Moss or Moss Based Medium
Used to support humidity and reduce weight during shipping.
This is not a long term growing medium.
Once acclimated, transition into a chunky mix for best results.
Stratum or Semi Hydro Setup
This is a passive hydro system designed for steady hydration.
Care basics:
• Keep water in the bottom reservoir
• Roots grow toward moisture over time
• Do not let the plant sit fully submerged
Best for consistent moisture without overwatering.
Chunky Soilless Mix (Wander Blend)
Designed for airflow, drainage, and strong root systems.
Care basics:
• Water thoroughly until runoff
• Let the mix dry down before watering again
• Never keep the mix constantly wet
If it feels heavy, it does not need water.
Chunky Soil Mix
Used for more established plants.
Care basics:
• Water until runoff
• Let the pot become lighter before watering again
• Do not water on a schedule
Surface dryness does not mean the roots are dry.
Light
Bright, indirect light is best.
• Near a window is ideal
• Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun
• Lower light is tolerated but slows growth
Better light equals stronger growth and better color.
Water
Overwatering is the most common issue.
Before watering:
• Check the weight of the pot
• Check moisture below the surface
General rule:
If you are unsure, wait.
Roots need oxygen as much as they need water.
Humidity
Most tropical plants prefer moderate to high humidity.
• Ideal range is above 50 percent
• Higher humidity supports larger leaves and healthier growth
That said, many will adapt to normal home conditions over time.
Temperature
• Ideal range is 65 to 85 degrees
• Avoid cold drafts
• Avoid temperatures below 60 degrees
Sudden temperature drops can cause stress and leaf damage.
Fertilizing
During active growth:
• Use a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2 to 4 weeks
• Dilute to half strength
Do not fertilize stressed or newly acclimating plants.
What to Expect
Environmental changes can cause:
• Minor drooping
• Yellowing leaves
• Slower growth
This is normal.
Your plant is adjusting to a new environment.
Give it time before making changes.
Repotting
Do not repot immediately unless necessary.
Signs it may be ready:
• Roots circling heavily
• Medium breaking down
• Plant outgrowing its container
When repotting:
Use a chunky, well draining mix that allows airflow.
Pet and Child Safety
Many tropical plants, including Alocasia and Philodendron, can be toxic if ingested.
Keep plants out of reach of pets and children.
Research specific plant toxicity if needed.
Important Information
All plants are sold in healthy condition at the time of sale.
Once a plant leaves our care, environmental factors are outside of our control.
The buyer is responsible for:
• Understanding basic plant care
• Providing an appropriate environment
• Monitoring plant health after transfer
Because of this:
All sales are final.
No refunds or replacements will be issued for decline after purchase.
Final Note
Every plant is different.
Every home is different.
The more you observe, the better you will get.
Trust the process. Trust the roots.
And if you take care of it, it will take care of you.
