Alocasia Loco – Grower’s Choice Starter Plant
Alocasia Loco is an eye-catching variety known for its dramatic leaf shape and unpredictable growth pattern. Leaves are thick and sculptural with exaggerated curves, rippled edges, and a slightly twisted appearance that gives the plant its name. The foliage is deep green with subtle texturing, and each new leaf often emerges with its own quirks, making no two plants look exactly alike.
Loco grows with a bold, expressive habit rather than a tidy or symmetrical form. Leaves can arch, curl, or twist as they mature, giving the plant a playful, almost animated presence. This is a variety appreciated for movement and character rather than uniformity, and it tends to stand out even among other Alocasias.
This listing is for a Grower’s Choice Alocasia Loco starter plant, not a corm. Plants are selected by me at the time of fulfillment based on overall health, root development, and growth stage. Starter plants are rooted, actively growing, and grown from my personal collection.
Starter plants are juvenile, established plants with approximately 1–3 leaves at the time of shipment. These plants are rooted and actively growing but still early in development. Leaf shape, texture, and overall form will continue to change as the plant matures.
Photos are representative only. You will not receive the exact plant shown. Images represent typical size, shape, and growth stage.
What to Expect
This listing is for an established starter plant, not a corm
Starter plants typically have 1–3 leaves at the time of shipment
Plants are rooted and actively growing
Leaf shape and form may vary significantly between plants
Minor cosmetic imperfections are normal with living plants
Temporary stress from shipping or environmental changes is possible
I do not ship unhealthy or compromised plants. Each plant is inspected prior to shipping to ensure strong roots and overall health.
Care Responsibility
Once the plant leaves my care, ongoing care becomes the responsibility of the buyer. This includes providing appropriate light, warmth, humidity, moisture management, and allowing time for acclimation after shipping.
I am not responsible for damage caused by improper care, environmental conditions, shipping delays, or temperature exposure after shipment.
I strongly recommend purchasing a heat pack and upgrading shipping when temperatures are cooler, as Alocasia starter plants are sensitive to cold and temperature fluctuations.
A Note on Growing
Alocasia Loco rewards patience and flexibility. Early leaves may look unusual or asymmetrical, and growth can feel unpredictable at times. With consistent care and stable conditions, the plant settles into its rhythm and continues producing bold, expressive foliage that lives up to its name.
